5  Routes to Choose From

Belles of Belvoir 20 miles (+640ft climbing)

New in 2022, we  introduced a 20 mile route , which loops back to Hose village hall for cakes and refreshments. The route takes you through the Vale villages of Long Claswon, famous for its cheese and through Hickling , a picturesque village on the Grantham canal. In Kinoulton you’ll see we send all other riders left up a hill , but you’ll stay in the Vale and head through a series of small villages on mostly quiet roads back to Hose.  This shorter route with less than half the climbing of our 30 mile route offers a more accessible introduction to sportives. The route is fully signposted.

Belles of Belvoir 30 miles (+1,300ft climbing)

Starting in the lovely Vale of Belvoir,  join us on our friendly 30 miler, following our signs on quiet country lanes through  pretty villages. The route is undulating and heads out further west than previous years, into the Nottinghamshire Wolds. There’s  a  village hall stop in Wymeswold just over half way, where you can refuel with eye-watering homemade cakes and savoury options.   You will have a couple of leg-twinging pulls at 7 miles and at 25 miles and you will finish on a lovely downhill back to event HQ, where you will be given a well deserved hero’s welcome, a medal, lunch and some goodies.

The Lauren Murphy 40th Birthday route (40 miles) (+1,775ft of climbing)

This month marks the 40th Birthday of Lauren Murphy  – an incredible lady that touched and influenced  the lives of so many. Her family including her mum and dad* and friends will be riding this in her name and to raise money for Aukland Hospital, which took such great care of her.  £5 from each registration will be donated to this amazing cause.

Read Lauren’s very moving story here

The ride will take you through pretty villages of the Vale of Belvoir and into Nottinghamshire. At mile 15 you can relax and enjoy plenty of good cheer, homemade sweet treats,  hot and cold drinks and a sit down.  Refuelled, you will pull out (steady uphill) of Wymeswold and continue to follow signs for another 20 miles to your second village hall in Old Dalby.  Our friendly team will greet you with more cakes to  tempt your palate along with savoury options. Only 5 (mostly flat) miles back to Hose for medals and a light lunch.

* This ride will include male riders

This ride also heads out west from Hose along quiet country lanes. Your first little challenge is the hill in Kinoulton and you will cycle through the ‘W’ villages of Widermerpool, Wysall and Wymeswold, where you can refuel at mile 15 in the village hall.   Over the next 24 miles you’ll dip and climb about 1,000ft, passing through the charming villages of Seagrave, Thrussington and Hoby before a steep descent into your second village hall stop with a different, but equally delicious selection of sweet and savoury foods.  The final leg of the ride is an undulating 15 miles back to lunch and medals.

From there you will head up and out of the village and head further south. Over the next 24 miles you’ll dip and climb about 1,000ft, passing through the charming villages of Seagrave, Thrussington and Hoby before a steep descent into your second village hall stop with a different, but equally delicious selection of sweet and savoury foods.
