Belvoir BlastOpen to all, this sportive is for the lads as well as the lasses. There is a choice of 4 circular road routes (2840,  60, and 100 miles), supported by well equipped and catered village hall cake stations!

As with all our events, the focus is on great rides, scrumptious cakes (for riders only please!) and an all round good day out.

Blast 28 miles (approx. + 1,400 ft climbing)

Our 28 mile distance offers sportive level experience at a shorter distance . The route is fully signposted and takes you on lovely quiet country lanes and villages in the Vale of Belvoir.  After a 2 mile warm up, you’ll conquer your first and probably longest hill – you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside from the top.  The rest of the ride is undulating and you’ll have a lovely long downhill towards the end.  It’s an ideal length for those who have might not have done a sportive before or might be coming back from injury/illness.

Note there is no village hall stop enroute – you can enjoy your fill of home made cakes back at Hose and hot and cold liquid refreshments as well light lunch and a shiny medal – all included in the price.

£30  4th Sept onwards.  Please email hello@2wheelsandapieceofcake.co.uk to find out if there are still spaces.

Juniors 8-17 only £10. Please email hello@2wheelsandapieceofcake.co.uk to reserve a place.

Blast 40 miles (approx. +1,800 ft climbing)

If you are not familiar with cycling in the Vale of Belvoir, and surrounding villages, then you are in for a treat. The country lanes are quiet and the villages and scenery are pretty and varied. This route will provide the challenge of a few of the local hills and will take you on some of the less well travelled roads in the Vale. Riders can enjoy the chance to refuel and recharge at our ‘Piece of Cake’ feed station  in Skillington about half way.  Please note that the route is fully signposted.

£40, 4th  Sept. onwards.  Please email hello@2wheelsandapieceofcake.co.uk to find out if there are still spaces.

Juniors 8-17 only £10. Please email hello@2wheelsandapieceofcake.co.uk to reserve a place.

Blast 60 miles (approx. 3,200ft climbing)

There are 2 well spaced out quality village hall feed stations enroute – riders only please.  Your first stop will be around mile 21, where you can enjoy home made cakes, savoury options, hot and cold drinks to fuel you for the next undulating 20 miles.  This route is fully signposted.

£45, 4th Sept. onwards  Please email hello@2wheelsandapieceofcake.co.uk to find out if there are still spaces.

Juniors 8-17 only £10. Please email hello@2wheelsandapieceofcake.co.uk to reserve a place.

Blast 100 miles (approx. 5,000ft climbing)

This challenging 100 mile route takes you through the tranquil Vale of Belvoir and  then out east of the A1 and south as far as Clipsham, through pretty villages on quiet roads.   The route is certainly lumpy and whether this is your first century or you are a regular 100 miler, this ride is sure to leave you with a smile on your face.

2 well stocked village hall feed stations (mile 30 and 80) are provided for riders which will keep you refuelled and smiling.

Please note Blast 100 will rely on GPS files and will NOT be signposted.  Some of the route overlaps, and the last 20 miles IS signposted, but will you need a method of loading the route to a GPS device.

£45, 4th Sept onwards.  Please email hello@2wheelsandapieceofcake.co.uk to find out if there are still spaces.
